Participating in coaching sessions with Alan has proved immensely beneficial to my professional development. I found the sessions to be supportive, yet challenging. I was able to take the tools and skills discussed and deploy them into my work in real time. I am grateful for the accountable working space to understand how to expound on my strengths and to further foster my growth areas.
I recently encountered a brief conflict with someone I would normally describe as aggressive. Perhaps this person is an ‘A or T’ personality. In any event, I would normally react by shutting down (recoil). I do not like conversations that are not calm.
In any event, I straightened up my posture, looked them straight on and stated my reasons for the action. Immediately, they recoiled, agreed, laughed, apologized for the interruption, and left. Conflict over.
As I sit here, I’m still in disbelief. I realize this is a baby step but it’s huge for me. I wanted to reach out and express my gratitude. With hope, I believe dealing with conflict will become easier for me.
As a busy professional juggling a Board of Directors and the operations of a fast growing nonprofit, I was hesitant to seek out coaching, adding more to an already too long To Do List. Alan’s method of coaching quickly allayed those fears.
Alan is an excellent listener and understood the dynamics of the challenges I faced. His knowledge and experience with leadership training gave me refreshing insights for effectively guiding my organization and provided practical, specific and actionable solutions for conflict.
Each session was structured to ensure I had specific actions I could complete from one session to the next, and that clear obtainable goals were set. These actions and goals were reviewed at the following session to gauge their success, make adjustments if needed, or making further plans to move forward in meeting my goals.
Alan is a pleasure work with. He is professional, frank, witty and shared his own experiences, both good and bad, to help me become a better, more effective leader.

For example, Alan has provided a review of our annual budget while it is under development by the Board’s Finance Committee. His insight and recommendations have been very valuable to the Board as the Budget is debated before adoption.
As another example, Krieger Solutions was hired to write a Financial Manual for the Center. Alan’s knowledge of the Center’s operations, together with sound internal control recommendations resulted in a quality product that is a useful guide to the management of the Center. The Center has also found the training services offered by the company to be useful and relevant to its mission. In the final analysis though, it is Alan’s personal integrity and commitment to quality service that provide outstanding value.
This seems to be working wonderfully as the staff feel like they are cared about and their presence means something (from what I am told).

Thank you so much for an outstanding LEADERSHIP training course. As I said to the Commissioner yesterday, this was, if not the best ever training course that I have ever taken in my 28.5 yrs. here, it definitely belongs to the top 3. The course is extremely well thought, designed & structured. The course material is extremely innovative, clear & concise and, above all, it was delivered by 3 extremely dynamic, experienced / seasoned & fascinating to listen to trainers. You guys never lost me once during the course of these 8 days, despite the density of the delivered concepts.
